Damascus (Band) Haiku
You don’t have to live
In Syria to enjoy
Damascus the band
Feeling Voiceless
I’m singing without inhibitions
Singing originals and covers
Even when this larynx is failing
Now, I sit here
With a whisper as a scream
I’m feeling voiceless
When I got careless
I’m the king of overdoing it
So inhibitions are in order
Online Venting
My sorrow and rage
Permeates through cyberspace
I have no such bounds
There Was Only One
Sitting alone on an unvarnished chair
Ash falls around the space
A lone light brightens the chair and I
It is dim, but at least some lumination exists
There is darkness everywhere else
I can’t see the floor (if there is any)
With the exception of dim light
I clutch myself in pure agony
Tears freeze on my cheeks as my skin slowly withers
I attempt to scream, but I hear no replies
The ash piles on my black polo with blue stripes
All I can do is sit as charred snow builds across the black
Shut up, silence!
I want to hear the symphony of a reply
Oceans & Oceans Haiku
Oceans & Oceans
Send tidal waves of goodness
Like a sonic beach
Refuse Dynasty
Throw away the damaged
Place the trash at the precipice
Of your kingdom
Mountains of crowns rust the moats
Around the castle
Boxes, bows, and plastic line the fortress
Servants come and go to meet demands
Old servant corpses are coronated
At the rusty moat
Beneath the empire lies
Severed limbs and lacerated hands
These parts belonged to the castle builders
Dirt was their reward for making something beautiful
How disgusting
We thrive on a refuse dynasty
Fueled by the excrement of demons
We could create a mutiny
But which cost is higher?
Life or comfort?
Decaying Sun
Billions of years
Have been unkind
To our most important star
She burns up scarlet
And expands like a blister
Tis a shame that waters
Are more valuable than gold
Since oceans are shrinking
Even mercury and Venus
Think that it is too hot
Oh Sun, you need life support
Yet no one is strong enough to sustain you
Your decaying frame spells
Death upon us all
The moons turn blood red
To match your current state
Asteroids cry at your state
There will be no life
For who knows how long
We’re all part of the same fate
As the aging spreads
